Martime Museum

Soviet sub B-39 extra info: Cuban Missle Crisis

Don't skip the Maritime Museum when visiting San Diego. The museum's exhibits like the Age of Sail, the Age of Steam, Charting the Sea, Harvesting the Ocean and San Diego's Navy are just as interesting as visiting the real boats, subs and ships. They also have new exhibits that go on year round.

When planning our trip, we planned for a lunch place where we could grab lunch on the way to our next adventure. Hazelwoods Deli and Cafe was right there on street level in the Wyndham complex.

We walked to our Seal Tour. Some of this tour overlapped with the Harbor Tour, but some was totally unique. Then we took the trolley/train to the north end of the Gaslamp Quarter and walked south down 5th street - mostly clothing shops and restaurants and night clubs.

Our Hotel

Website: Downtown/Bayfront Marriott Residence Inn

The hotel photos were all gathered into this group. We stayed at our usual Marriott Residence Inn. The hotel had a wonderful deck that looked over the bay. We spent some down-time there, and that was also the same floor where breakfast was served. Dinner was at Anthony's Fish Grotto, a landmark that is marked for destruction late this year.
